Welcome to the Maria Hastings School website. The Hastings School, one of six elementary schools in Lexington, provides a multi-disciplinary and differentiated educational experience for 440 students. Our school motto: Everyone Belongs, Everyone Learns, is at the heart of our work. The entire staff believes that all children can learn. We put our mission into practice by matching teaching strategies with children’s learning needs.  Our school community includes a highly supportive and active Parent Teacher Association.

  • First Day of School
    The first day of school for the 2014-15 school year will be Tuesday, August 26th.  Drop off begins at 8:15 AM.  Dismissal will be at 12:15 PM for all students.  Have a great summer!

  • Pickup Location Change
    Please be aware that 2nd grade car riders will now be picked up at the back of the school, along with the K and 1st graders.  Remember that all students should wait with the youngest child in their family.

    Join us in the Hastings Field for a welcome back picnic from 4:30-6:30 PM on Tuesday, September 2nd.

  • Volunteer Training

  • Absentee Line
    To report student absences, please call our absentee line: 781-860-5802. This line is accessible 24 hours a day. When leaving a message, please include your child’s name, teacher, and reason for the absence.
