Welcome to William Diamond Middle School’s website. One of two middle schools in Lexington, Diamond offers a rich and interesting program of study in traditional academic subjects, physical education, the arts, and technology. We serve about 780 students, in grades 6, 7 and 8. We are proud to participate in the METCO Program, welcoming students from Boston as well as Lexington into our Diamond community.

This website is designed to give you access to a range of information about Diamond, and about your child’s current and future experiences here. Among other things, you will find information about departments and courses, and links to teacher web pages, as well as information about clubs and activities. We hope that you find it informative and easy to use. Welcome to Diamond!

November 13, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Clarke Auditorium
Diamond and Clarke middle schools have combined forces to bring Dr. Elizabeth Englander to speak about children's use of social media and cyberbullying.  Dr. Englander is head of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center (MARC), which is a leading research organization in the area of children and the cyberworld. The explosion in preteens' use of social media represents one of the most challenging parenting tasks today. Social media not only features its own interactions, on the Internet, but also consistently impacts social interactions in person. This event will present parents with recent research about digital environments and how they are used by preteens, and how parents can coach children about these issues as a key method of avoiding social problems that frequently begin on, or are exacerbated by, electronics.  Problems such as cyberbullying and cyber-fighting are consistently identified by pre-teens and teens as one of their greatest areas of educational need. You don't need to become a computer expert to help your children learn the social pitfalls on digital communication; this event will focus on practical mistakes, cyberbullying, and the spill-over into bullying in school.

Please join us on November 13 from 6:30 - 8:00PM in the Clarke Auditorium for an interesting and informative evening!
