Welcome to the Joseph Estabrook Elementary School!

Estabrook School is a K-5, 500 student school in historic Lexington, Massachusetts. We are one of nine schools in the Lexington Public Schools, proudly serving a diverse student body with comprehensive and rigorous curriculum.  Since 2010, Estabrook School has been recognized for academic "high growth" twice by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  In 2012, Estabrook was awarded the "Massachusetts Wellness Gold Medal Award" by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  This February 2014, we officially opened the NEW Joseph Estabrook School!  We extend our deepest gratitude to the Town of Lexington for their generous gift of a new school!

  • Estabrook welcomes you to a two-part Student Stress Seminar, generously funded by the LEF.  Join us for Part I with  Dr. Christopher Kaufman on Thursday, 12/4. 7-8:30 pm, Estabrook to learn about the effect of stress on students through neurological, developmental and environmental views. Join us again for the Part 2 on Thursday, 1/15 15, 7-8:30 pm, Estabrook.  (These are not repeated events.) You won't want to miss meeting Dr. Kaufman and learning about how we can help children of all ages with stress. Attendees are invited to RSVP at http://www.estabrookpta.org, although RSVP is not required to attend.  Join us!

  • Join us on Wednesday, December 10, 8:15-8:45 a.m. for Safe Routes to School Day! Students are encouraged to walk, carpool, bus or bicycle (weather permitting) to school!  Help us be green and make a wish for the environment on our wishing tree

  • Join us as we "Jam the Van" at Estabrook School for the Interfaith Food Pantry!  Students are invited to bring one non-perishable food item on Wednesday, 12/10 on Safe Routes to School Day.  A recommended food item list will be sent home.  Last month we donated 337 items to the local food pantry! Join us as we continue to support this important resource in our community!

  • Join us on Wednesday, December 10, 8:45-9:30 a.m. for the "Principal Walking Tour" of K-5 Classrooms!  Experience firsthand how Estabrook teachers differentiate curriculum for all learners.  RSVPs encouraged estabrookpta@gmail.com, but not required. Join us for coffee, conversation and classrooms visits!

  • Estabrook PTA Science Fair Kick-Off Event! Wed., 12/10, 7-8:00 p.m., Estabrook.  Join us with with Dr. Angela Belcher of MIT! Dr. Belcher will share her love of science with the students and provide inspiration to get them jump started on their own science fair projects!

  • Save the Date:  The Second Annual Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser Hosted by the 5th Grade!  Thursday, January 29, 2015.  Be our guest! The 5th graders will take tray in hand and serve the Estabrook Community.  The proceeds from this event will help fund the Nature’s Classroom trip. Please join the fun and support our 5th graders.  Keep your eye out for your ticket order forms coming home in your child’s yellow folder in a few weeks.

  • Did you know? Estabrook School is starting a Community Closet of new and gently used / clean clothing items for any K-5 student.  Stay tuned for more information.  The Community Closet opens in December!
