  • Finding Resilience-A Night with Maria Trozzi

Join Maria Trozzi on March 11 in the LHS Auditorium from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm for an interactive and enlightening conversation about the new stresses of parenting our children today and evidence-based strategies for building resilience. Parents need words, a developmentally informed, thoughtful approach, and their confidence shored up as they navigate the maze of decisions that will affect their child’s well-being and success. Trozzi’s refreshing and honest approach focuses on useful strategies that are often counter-intuitive for dedicated parents, but lead children to master the coping skills that promote resilience. This event is sponsored by the LEF. Click the headline for an event flyer.

About Lexington and LHS:Lexington, Massachusetts is a residential suburb of Boston with a population of 31,000. Located twelve miles northwest of Boston, the town is home to numerous high-technology industries and commercial establishments. 93% of eligible children (about 6,000) attend six elementary schools, two middle schools and Lexington High School.

LHS is a dynamic learning community with almost 2,000 students and a staff of over 200. It provides a challenging academic environment with a full range of college preparatory courses and a 40 hour community service requirement for all students. Numerous extracurricular activities and interscholastic sports round out the program.

Our mission:  Lexington High School is a learning community committed to developing well-educated, healthy, engaged students in a respectful, safe, supportive environment. We encourage the effort and imagination necessary to acquire knowledge and develop academic habits of mind. We maintain our high expectations with a challenging and varied curriculum, inspired by curiosity, enriched by clubs and activities. At the same time we emphasize the need to reduce unhealthy stress and unproductive competition in pursuit of balanced lives. We honor diversity and individual achievement; we promote collaboration and community service. Together we strive to model behavior that will help make our campus a microcosm of the world we hope to create.
