The Lexington Public Schools Professional Development Committee is proud to offer this workshop for the Summer 2012 semester that will be taught by LPS staff members.
 
This one-day professional development opportunity will provide an overview of Do the Math, an intervention program designed to target specific areas of mathematics for students in grades 2-5.

We will discuss the big ideas, the instructional design, how the instructional strategies relate to the Standards for Mathematical Practice in the 2011 Framework, and the embedded assessment. Participants will also have hands-on time to explore one of the thirteen modules in depth.

About the Instructors: Gail Grimes and Julia Hendrix, Lexington Public Schools
Gail Grimes has been a Mathematics Specialist in the Lexington Public Schools for seven years. Julia Hendrix has been a Mathematics Specialist in the Lexington Public Schools for the past ten years.
