    Today in class: Blue and Green classes met today after MCAS testing. Each class began with a check in and then students started watching the documentary, "Egypt: Engineering an Empire".

    Today in class: Students began class by analyzing an image from the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead. After sharing observations and inferences, students watched a BrainPop video about mummification. The class then read an article about religion in ancient Egypt. Students took a partner quiz based on information from the video and article.

    Today in class: Students continued working in small groups to plan their interactive dramatizations. They will have ten minutes to plan on Monday before presentations begin.

    Today in class: We started class with a 1-5 check in. Students received permission forms and information about our upcoming field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Students had ten minutes to get started on their homework, and then spent the rest of class working in small groups to plan their interactive dramatizations. 

    Homework: Read sections 9.6-9.7 in History Alive and complete corresponding notes in your packet, due tomorrow

    Today in class: Half Day: We did not have regular Ancient Civ. class today - we used class time for Math MCAS prep.

    Today in class: Students worked on planning their interactive dramatizations. Each group first wrote group norms. They finished any reading and notes about their topics and then got to work on script writing.

    Today in class: We started class with a collective memory exercise to review what we did in class on Friday. We reviewed the concept of the social pyramid in ancient Egypt and students began working on an interactive dramatization exercise. We will continue working on this tomorrow. 

    Homework: Blue and Yellow: Read Section 9.3 in History Alive and complete corresponding notes in your packet

    Red and Green: Read your group's assigned section of text and complete corresponding notes in your packet
