    ROOM 103

Hi, my name is Kristen Shanahan and I am your child's Kindergarten teacher this year!

I am so excited to be part of the Fiske community. Prior to coming to Fiske, I taught Kindergarten at the Hastings school. For over 15 years I have worked with children of all ages groups from kindergarten to fifth  grade, however Kindergarten is my passion and I am truly excited to be your child's teacher.

In 2010, I received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State University. I currently live in Andover,Ma with my  husband &  2 sons Beau & Wes.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy baking, spending time with my family, and keeping up with all the Boston sports teams!

I can truly say I love my job! Each day is a new and exciting adventure in Room 103!

    ROOM 103

This is Kim’s fifth year working in Room 103. Kim is married with 4 children of her own. She really enjoys being in 103 because Kindergarten has always been one of her favorite grades with her own children. In her free time ,when she’s not attending her kids sporting events, she enjoys running and reading

    Room 103 Mission Statement

Kindergarten is intended to be a happy, successful experience. Children
come to kindergarten with various levels of school preparation.
This first year will provide developmental, emotional, social,
physical, and intellectual growth of your child.

Due to individual differences, children will achieve success at varying
levels and in different areas. Because of these individual differences,
many opportunities are provided to ensure a child's feeling of
accomplishment and pleasure through a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

    We emphasize developmentally appropriate activities
which address the individual needs and differences of each student.
Children will be engaged in meaningful experiences through
an interactive learning environment that promotes a love of learning.
