Today's objectives were: (1) For solids that are similar to each other, find relationships between their surface areas and their volumes. (2) Use formulas for the surface area and the volume of a sphere. During class we worked through a handout assignment "Volume: Day 3."
The homework is: p. 785 exercise 3, p. 786 exercise 7, p. 794 exercise 12ace, and p. 795 exercise 2. Also we will have a short quiz tomorrow (Thu. 6/9) on volume.
Today's objective was "Find the volumes of varied shapes." The homework is to finish this assignment begun in class:
Today's main class objective was "Find volumes of prisms and cylinders" and we also briefly covered the idea of surface area. The homework is:
There is no homework tonight. Tomorrow we will begin a short final unit on volume.
Today's class objective was: "Use right triangle trigonometry to solve varied problems." The homework is to finish the handout problem set "Trigonometry Practice."
Class tomorrow (Wed. 6/1) is at 8:45-9:40 in room 330, and we will be working on review problems about similarity and trigonometry.
At the following class (Thu. 6/2) we will have a test on similarity and trigonometry.
Today's class objective was: "Find heights and areas of triangles using trigonometry." There is no homework over the holiday weekend, but if you weren't in class, you need to catch up on this work you missed from section 9.09:
Upcoming: We will have a test Thu. 6/2 on similarity and trigonometry.
