The final exam will be on Tuesday 6/21 starting at 8:30 a.m. The exam is for 90 minutes with optional 30-minute extra time, so plan on staying until 10:30. Please report to room 710 by 8:25 a.m. with pens/pencils, graphing calculator, and your textbook ready to hand in.

The homework for June 9-16 is to work through the set of review problems for the final exam. At the end of each class you’ll be asked to work up to a certain problem by the beginning of the next class.
Note that we don’t have class on Wed. 6/15, but that Thu. 6/16 is a longer class at 1:00-2:25.

Today's objectives were: (1) For solids that are similar to each other, find relationships between their surface areas and their volumes. (2) Use formulas for the surface area and the volume of a sphere. During class we worked through a handout assignment "Volume: Day 3."
The homework is: p. 785 exercise 3, p. 786 exercise 7, p. 794 exercise 12ace, and p. 795 exercise 2. Also we will have a short quiz tomorrow (Thu. 6/9) on volume.

Today's objective was "Find the volumes of varied shapes." The homework is to finish this assignment begun in class:
- Read page 766.
- Do section 9.10 (pp. 767-768) exercises 1b, 1d, 2, 3, 8, 9.
- Do section 9.12 (pp. 775-779) exercises 1, 2, 13.

Today's main class objective was "Find volumes of prisms and cylinders" and we also briefly covered the idea of surface area. The homework is:
- Finish pp. 2-3 of the handout "Volumes of Prisms and Cylinders" if not already done in class.
- Do section 9.10 (pp. 767-768) exercises 1a, 1c, 4, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, and 16. Note that in problems 1a/13/14/15, the word "right" means upright, not right angle.
