    1. Your video commentary is due by Monday, March 11. I will not accept late submissions. You've had 11 days to work on it. You should start working on your commentary now. Get familiar with the programs so when you encounter a problem, you have time to figure it out.

    2. You need a new 3-subject notebook for English class starting this Friday. You will hang on to your current English journal and keep it in your locket. You'll need it for the last unit of the year. DO NOT THROW IT AWAY OR LOSE IT.

Important Video Commentary Information, Due Dates, and Materials
Your video commentary is due by Monday, March 11. Upload your video to the google classroom assignment. Make sure you follow the directions on the Video Commentary Feedback Form from class.

Programs you can use to create your video:
    iMovie, Adobe Spark, Screencastify

Adobe Spark and Screencastify are available from the Lexington App Catalog. Use your google account to sign in. Click allow. If you want to use iMovie, you'll have to have your own program on your computer at home; it won't work on a chromebook.

Directions for how to use Adobe Spark are attached. You'll have to play with the other programs and figure out how they work.

The video commentary will be done entirely at home. Here are some links to examples of professional commentaries that we've studied in class.

You have a writing test on Monday. You MUST bring your annotated story to class on Monday so you can use it for the test. Here's how you can prepare:
    1. Use the graded writing assessment that you received in class today, and check it against the feedback form (attached on google classroom) that we went over in class. How does your writing compare? NW = Needs Work. OK = I understand what you're doing and it's fine.
    2. What's one item you can work on to improve your writing? Think about the A+ writing that you read through and examined during class. What did that writing have that your writing still needs?
    3. Do you make mistakes with writing conventions a lot? Make sure that you're following the writing conventions in your notebook. It's an easy way to earn points.
    4. Re-read your assigned story. Read it with another person. Ask yourself or the other person questions about setting. Look up words your unfamiliar with. It's always worth reading something several times. What you don't understand the first time, you might understand the fifth.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, you will have a Socratic Seminar. To prepare for this, you need to complete the prepartion sheet on Google Classroom. You will not be able to use your chromebooks tomorrow. READ THE DIRECTIONS on the preparation sheet. You will be graded on two things: Your participation in the discussion (10 points PAH category) and your preparation for the discussion (12 points CWHW) category.

Bring your preparation sheet and your book to class tomorrow. You will not earn partial credit for your preparation sheet if you turn it in late (after tomorrow). You're either prepared or you're not tomorrow.
