Today's class objective was "Use scientific notation to express very large and very small numbers." During class we completed the problem set "Large and small numbers." If you weren't in class, this assignment was sent to your e-mail and you should do it. For students who were in class, there is no homework.
Today's class objective was "Find shortest paths using a reflection strategy." The problems we did in class (and you need to do if you were absent) are section 9.02 (pp. 706-708) exercises 1, 4, 5, 10-13, and if time also 8-9.
There is no homework for the rest of the school year, but if you miss a class, you need to do the work you missed.
Today's class objective was "Solve problems about shortest distances and paths." The problems we did in class were from Getting Started section 9.01: exercises 1-4, 11-12, and if time also 7-8.
Our final exam will be on Wed. 6/14, 7:55-9:30 a.m. in room 712. We are spending our four class periods Wed. 6/7 through Tue. 6/13 working on a set of review problems. Please try to work at the pace that we set during class. You were asked to complete up to problem 6 before Thursday, up to problem 13 before Friday, and up to problem 19 before Tuesday.
Today's class objective was "Determine a monthly mortgage payment by a direct calculation." Your homework due Wednesday is the handout sheet "Determining a mortgage payment": go over our class work on problems 1-3, then do problem 4.
