If we haven't been introduced already, a little about myself:
The 2017-2018 school year is my tenth year teaching Art in Lexington. This year marks my eighth year teaching Art at Clarke. Prior to this, I was the traveling art teacher in Lexington at the elementary level; teaching grades k-5 at five out of the six elementary schools in town. It's hard to believe that some of those same kindergarten students are now here at Clarke as 8th graders! Time flies when you love your job!
In preparation for teaching I attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) and left with a BFA in studio art with a concentration in teaching.
Later, Ms. Roy (now the Lexington k-12 Visual Art Coordinator) and I graduated from Boston University together; earning Masters of Art in Art Education degrees.
My hope is, that with this done, my personal art-making can be revived! Most recently I have rediscovered the medium of colored pencil and have been testing the possibilities with: line, shadows, layered tunnel books, and my favorite subject- the animal kingdom. See below for some examples of recent colored pencil work...........
