    HOMEWORK CLUB - Students are reminded that they can attend Homework Club which takes place in Room 2013 from Monday through Thursday at 3-4pm. Students can get help from Teachers, or they can work quietly and independently.

    SCIENCE BOWL - Science Bowl practices this week are today and Friday after school in Room 2007

    IMLEM MEET 3 - Today is the last day to turn in your permission slip for IMLEM Meet 3. Parent pick-up after the meet will take place at the BACK parking lot of Diamond (near the Cafe) at 6:15pm.

    DIAMOND DISPATCH - A reminder for members of Diamond Dispatch. Please submit your articles for the January newspaper soon. You will meet as a group within the next couple of weeks.

    SKI TRIP - Hoping you can escape for a weekend of Winter Fun? This is an opportunity to learn how to ski or board, spend time relaxing on the slopes, and also a chance to race your friends or teachers down water slides at Jay Peak's indoor water park. Ten more spots for our ski trip have opened up for 7th or 8th graders interested. Bring your deposit into the office as soon as you can to reserve your spot.

    IMLEM PRACTICE - Practice for IMLEM Meet 3 will take place after school today from 3-4:15pm in Rm. 2002. Please bring your signed permission slip and a pencil.

    GEOGRAPHY BEE - Diamond's Geography Bee will take place this afternoon from 3-4:30pm in Room 245. This contest is open to all students and will be used to determine the school's winner. If you have any questions, please seek out a World Geo Teacher.

    HOMEWORK CLUB - All students are invited to Homework Club from 3-4pm in Room 1013, Monday through Thursday. Teachers can assist students, or they can work independently in a nice, quiet space. Drop in at any time!

    Middle School Essay Project

    On Monday, January 21, the Town of Lexington will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a day of family-friendly volunteer activities supporting the underserved.

    This year, we would like to ask students to try an exercise called the Race Card Project. Think about the word Race. How would you put your thoughts, experiences or observations about race into one sentence that only has six words.

    The theme of the short essay (200-400 words) is why you chose those six words. A few of the essays will be chosen to be read at the Opening Ceremonies at Cary Hall, as well as at various events during the day.

    The deadline to turn your essays in is January 7, 2019.
