Course Update: During the second half of the second term, students in 7th grade science finished their study of the systems of the human body. Their work was focused on learning how the systems of the human body work together to keep up healthy. One particular project allowed student to learn how the muscular and skeletal systems work together by asking students to design and build a prosthetic limb for a performance artist. During the start of term three, students studied the structure and function of DNA and created beautiful DNA models that are now on display in our classroom. We are now in our genetics unit. After finishing our study of Mendelian genetics, we will spend time studying pedigrees, genetic disorders and modern genetics.
