School Committee Seeks Special PBC Member for School Project
Lexington Children's Place at Pelham Road
The School Committee appreciates Town Meeting's recent appropriation of design funds for the Lexington Children's Place at Pelham Road ("LCP"). Carl Valente, Town Manager, has notified the School Committee that we may recommend one person to support the LCP project and we invite interested community members to apply.
School Committee and Permanent Building Committee ("PBC") meetings are open to the public and community members are always welcome to attend any of these public meetings. The appointee is expected to attend PBC meetings, may be asked to participate in formal votes when required, and is expected to remain in close communication with the School Committee. PBC meetings are customarily held once a month on Thursday evenings, but times and dates may vary. Additional meetings are anticipated as each project moves forward. PBC meetings where the LCP Project will be discussed are currently scheduled for May 11, June 28, July 26, and August 23, 2017.
Who may be appointed?
The School Committee may appoint a School Committee member to serve in this role, or another community member who is not a Town employee. Applicants for PBC roles frequently have specialized knowledge about engineering, architecture, a related field, or special knowledge about a particular town facility, in this case the Lexington Children's Place.
The School Committee invites interested community members to complete an
application and submit it no later than 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017.
We hope to make the appointment at our May 9 meeting. If interested,
to download the application (in pdf format) Inquiries and completed applications may be sent by email to the School Committee’s Executive Assistant, Kristen Cronin: firstname.lastname@example.org
. Applications may also be mailed to the attention of the School Committee at 146 Maple Street, Lexington, MA 02420.
