The ESL Program, along with LHS staff, also work to provide emotional and academic supports where necessary during the process of transitioning to a new culture and a new learning environment.
Happy autumn, everyone. We love supporting your children, but we also want to support you as parents! Below you will find resources for you and your families. We enjoyed meeting you at Parent Night at Clarke Middle School on Thursday evening, and we thank you for coming. If you missed it, please be on the lookout for a parent coffee which will have overlapping topics. Stayed tuned for an upcoming date.
IS YOUR CHILD EXPERIENCING CULTURE SHOCK?
Sometimes ESL students and/or their family members go through a cultural transition period called "culture shock". This is an emotional transition from one culture to another that affects mood, behavior, sleep patterns, and relationships. It often appears in stages; please see the the details in the link above.
