Spring is on its way and so is ELPAC!!   ELPAC (English Learner Parents Advisory Council) is a coalition of parents, teachers, and administration that will work together for the best possible outcomes of our students. Your voice is important to us!

ELPAC News: All ELL Parents  and parents of former Ells are automatically members of this Council and are welcome to all meetings.  The ELPAC is looking for one parent volunteer representative from each school in the district. The role of the representative is to collect input from ELL parents around issues that affect their children and communicate to members of the ELPAC.

The council will be comprised of the following:

    • a parent representative from each school (PreK-12)
    • an ESL teacher from each of the elementary, middle school, and high school levels
    • a school administrator
    • representatives of local parent organizations

**The next meeting is May 15th at the Central Office.

IS YOUR CHILD EXPERIENCING CULTURE SHOCK?

Sometimes ESL students and/or their family members go through a cultural transition period called "culture shock".  This is an emotional transition from one culture to another that affects mood, behavior, sleep patterns, and relationships.  It often appears in stages; please see the the details in the link above.
