The LPS Professional Learning Committee is proud to offer this workshop for the Spring 2017 semester that will be taught by our own LPS faculty.

Every year, there is that student who struggles mightily with putting pencil to paper, and the writing workshop becomes a source of frustration for the student and the teacher.  In this course, you will explore some of the research on engaging reluctant writers, and bring back research-based instructional strategies to motivate even your toughest audiences.

Educators will be using the latest research to analyze student writing from their classrooms, and collaborating to implement and reflect upon an array of strategies to engage all writers.  This course will highlight new approaches for writers who struggle, and how to build self-efficacy for all writers.  This is the perfect opportunity for you to inject new life into your workshop model, building your toolbox for differentiating instruction and feedback to improve your students’ writing process and product.
