Authority for the purchase of materials, equipment, supplies, and services is extended to the Superintendent through the narrative or detailed listing of such items compiled as part of the budgetmaking process.
The purchase of items and services on such lists requires no further Committee approval except when by law or Committee policy directs. All procurement of goods or services must follow best business practice and/or procurement laws.
The School Committee shall appoint a Chief Procurement Officer who will meet the qualifications required under M.G.L. Chapter 30B, section 19, and receive delegation procurement powers and duties from the Town’s Chief Procurement Officer (Town Manager).
The School Business Administrator shall serve to attest that funds are available prior to all purchases being made by the district.
